Frangipani Cove's Samui villa site was developed on a tropical rain forest. The founders accepted a collective responsibility to return as much to nature as possible.
Locals believe that trees have spirits. Therefore, before the building work began, trees were moved to a nursery and Buddhist monks led ceremonies to calm the spirits in those trees.
Cuttings of the local beach plants were taken and cultivated in a nursery. These are now being planted back onto the beach to restore it to its natural glory.
Over 50 trees have been re-planted at The Cove, including date palms, coconut palms, frangipani trees, Indian cork trees, cashew nut trees, breadfruit trees, cannonball trees, yava plum trees and varieties of ficus.
Water is a precious commodity and is treated with care. Grey water is re-used where possible, the need for bottled water has been minimised and natural aquifers are managed responsibly.
The beach is a natural beach with coarse sand, coral and rocks which shelter abundant aquatic life which can easily be seen when snorkelling directly off this Koh Samui villa.
The staff quarters are modern, clean and well equipped and we are proud of the working and living conditions of the staff. |
